Intro to Computers: Microsoft Word
Tuesday, January 6 @ 10:00 am & Tuesday, January 13 @ 10:00 am
Learn how to compose a new document, edit text, change fonts, and insert pictures. Basic familiarity with using computers and mice is necessary. Class takes place over two sessions. Space is limited, register today! To register, call 203-488-1441 x 318 or visit www.blackstonelibrary.org.

MakerLab Open House
Friday, January 9 @ 5:00 pm
Meet the MakerLab: Visit the Blackstone after hours to see demonstrations and get hands-on with the equipment of the MakerLab. Make squishy circuits, create a 3D file, make a button, step in front of the green screen and make a video, and see the 3D printer in action! Light refreshments will be provided. Maker Monday [Grades 5-12]
(Every other Wednesday) January 12 & 26 @ 3-5 PM
Features a different project, from 3D printing to electronics to paper crafts, or you can dig into the MakerLab and explore what interests you. Francis Walsh students can take school bus #5 after school to the Blackstone Library. Have your parent/guardian pick you up at 5PM. No bus service will be available to bring you home.

Afternoon Tea at Downton Abbey
Sunday, January 18 @ 1:00 – 4:00 PM
Your presence is cordially requested at this fundraiser for the Friends of the Library. The afternoon begins with a performance by Kandie Carle, known as The Victorian Lady, who will present a talk and demonstration of Edwardian dress. Dressing from corset to glove, she explains each article of clothing and its significance. High tea with finger sandwiches, dessert and prizes follows the performance. Tickets are $20 for Friends of the Library members and $30 for nonmembers. They are available at the library and online at www.blackstonelibrary.org. No one will be admitted to the performance after 1:30 PM.
