BISHOP’S ORCHARDS LAUNCHES “FRADIANI FRENZY” ICE CREAM FOR LOCAL AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANT

March 3rd, 2015 - GUILFORD, CT, – Guilford’s Bishop’s Orchards Farm Market & Winery is formally supporting local musician, Nicholas Fradiani Jr. as he makes his way through the American Idol journey. A Connecticut Native with roots in East Haven, Guilford, and West Haven, Nick has made it all the way to the Top 24, with his most recent performance of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” In 2013, Nick performed at Bishop’s Orchards 7th Annual Shoreline Wine Festival and is friends with many of Bishop’s employees.

Bishop’s Orchards created their OWN ice cream flavor called the “Fradiani Frenzy.” Based off of Nick’s two favorites, chocolate and peanut butter, it has caused quite the frenzy selling out two days in a row, hours after its release. “We sold 36 quarts of ‘Fradiani Frenzy’ in 6 hours, in the dead of winter. We have gone through so much ice cream, that production temporarily was on hold in order to refill on ingredients,” says Bishop’s Orchards Food and Production Manager Bobbi Hallaway. The idea for “Fradiani Frenzy” came from the Bakery’s Ice Cream Maker, Teresa Kelly. Bishop’s Orchards has been making their own ice cream since the summer of 2014, but have never had such a positive response and so quickly.

Back in 2003, Nick sang at Bishop’s Orchards in a Quartet with Guilford High School’s select ensemble, “Voices.” “The music program in Guilford Public Schools is remarkable, and Bishops has been a longtime supporter of the arts to develop the talents of hardworking young adults like Nick,” says Bishop’s Orchards Co-Owner Keith Bishop.  His talent has grown and matured to a phenomenal level, leading him to small and large music success. His following and reputation has since then flourished, leading him to his first big break on America’s Got Talent, with his band Beach Avenue.

Local patronage has always been a large focus for Bishop’s Orchards. Being a small, family owned business since 1871, roots within the community is very important. By supporting Nick, we are able to keep our local community informed not only of his success, but his origins as a Guilford resident and family.

Nick will find out if his American Idol journey continues LIVE on Wednesday, March 4th, 2015.
