Meriden, Conn. (May 13, 2015) – The spare change we collect adds up to help make a difference for local charitable organizations. As a part of its community-giving program ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union recently donated $453 from the fees collected by Connex’s coin-cashing machine at the Meriden branch. Connex’s “Coins-for-Change” program charges a five percent fee to members and a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the fees collected to charitable organizations in the local community.
“The Wallingford Community Women, Inc. is grateful to Connex Credit Union for their generous donation to the club,” said Donna O’Keefe, membership chairwoman, Wallingford Community Women, Inc. “The funds collected through the Connex Coins-for-Change program will support numerous club projects, including a contribution to the Female Soldiers: Forgotten Heroes home in Bridgeport, support for the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra, and upcoming room and garden renovation projects at the Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis shelter for women who are victims of domestic violence.”

Wallingford Community Women is a non-profit civic organization that promotes educational, philanthropic and community service work. It provides members with opportunities for personal enrichment, leadership and social interaction.
