Posted on May 28th, 2015

Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center is proud to announce the opening of CREATE, a new arts-based day program taking place in the heart of downtown Madison.
CREATE, which stands for Creating Remarkably Expressive Art Through Empowerment, provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to explore artistic expression through participation in a variety of projects and mediums. The program launched on Tuesday, May 26th.
Led by Vista employee and local artist Samantha Listorti, CREATE classes run Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from a newly renovated space on Boston Post Road. Artists will engage in long and short-term projects, as well as group and individual projects.
Some of the mediums artists will explore include drawing, painting, photography, sculpture and multi-media. In addition to creating works of art, artists will enjoy outings to stimulate creativity.
The CREATE program is being offered in addition to the wide range of classes available through the Vista Arts Center, an all-inclusive, non-competitive arts program which runs over 30 visual and performing arts classes each year.
For information about CREATE or the Vista Arts Center, please contact Arts Program Manager Amanda Roberts at aroberts@vistavocational.org or 860-399-8080.
