Connex CU Collecting Donations for Local Children's Hospital Now Through Sept. 9 Now
Posted on August 26th, 2015

Credit union will match donations from employees and members up to $1,000
NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (Aug. 25, 2015) –  As part of its philanthropic program, ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union will be teaming up with Credit Unions for Kids for Miracle Jeans Day. Connex employees who donate five or more dollars will be permitted to wear jeans to work on Wednesday, September 9. The proceeds will be donated to local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital: Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford.
Connex will also be accepting donations from members from now until September 9, 2015. They have set a fundraising goal of $1,000 and will match any contribution made by a member or employee up to that amount. Those members who wish to donate are encouraged to do so through staff at their local branch. All donations are tax-deductible, and every penny goes to aid children at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
“We are extremely proud to be working closely with Credit Unions for Kids to help gather money for children who need it the most,” said Carl Casper, vice president of customer advocacy, Connex Credit Union. “They are an incredible organization that has made an indelible impact on the patients of the CMN Hospitals, and we strongly encourage our members and employees to contribute to this cause.”
Credit Unions for Kids is a non-profit collaboration of credit unions, chapters and business partners from across the nation. These groups engage in fundraising activities that benefit 170 hospitals in the Children’s Miracle Network by funding cutting edge life-saving research and helping to develop new innovative technology. Each year these hospitals treat nearly 10 million patients. A donation as small as $5 could buy a blanket for a baby or a blood pressure cuff designed for tiny arms.
