3rd Annual "Random Acts of Apples" November 13
Posted on November 6th, 2015

The 3rd Annual “Random Acts of Apples”, presented by Bishop’s Orchards will take place on Friday, November 13, 2015, Worldwide Kindness Day.  Bishop’s will be donating apple cider, cider donuts, and apples  to the Veteran Affairs Hospital in West Haven with gratitude to our local vets, heroes and employees who serve our country.
“Since Worldwide Kindness Day occurs right after Veterans Day, we want to honor those that have served our country from our community and those that help to care for those Veterans,” says Keith Bishop, 5th Generation Co-Owner. “There are many members of the Bishop family and employees that have served our country in the past, including Albert Bishop (Air Force), Ron Rubano (Navy) and Rory Kane (Marines).   Bishop's Orchards appreciates the efforts these individuals have made to keep our country safe so that we can all benefit at home.  We are grateful for the bountiful harvest we have from our farm and the hard work of our staff, yet that pales in comparison to the freedom we enjoy as protected by our military families.”
Random Acts of Apples is an annual event, saluting those behind the scenes that help others in our community.   Next year, Bishop’s Orchards plans to involve the community and receive nominations  of recipients most deserving of our “Random Acts of Apples.” The cider, apples, and apple cider donuts are all Bishop’s Own products, grown and made in Guilford. One of the many benefits to the Random Acts of Apples for participators is that they are able to sample a few of our seasonal specialties Bishop’s is so well known for.
The Bishop’s Orchards truck will arrive in West Haven on Nov. 13 mid morning, visiting units and veterans stationed within the VA Hospital. The distribution hours will be Friday, Nov. 13, 9:30 am – 4 pm. For more information, visit our Bishop’s website at or contact Erica Scranton at 203.453.2338 x. 215.
