Nonprofit Council Offers Workshop Series

The Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Guilford Foundation and the Branford Community Foundation and supported by Guilford Savings Bank, are pleased to announce the first program in the2016 Shoreline Nonprofit Workshop Series.

This workshop will be the first of a two-part series on Nonprofit Governance, presented by Mike Burns of BWB Solutions. Following the two-part Nonprofit Governance Workshop, there will be two additional workshops on Strategic Alliances, presented by Anne Yuresek of Fio Partners to be conducted in April and May, 2016 (details provided at a later date). The location for the Nonprofit Governance Series will be the Blackstone Library in Branford, CT. Networking opportunity begins at 8am followed by Nonprofit Governance Workshop, led by Mike. The workshop will conclude at 10:30am.

Nonprofit Governance Workshop Participants will:
 Learn more about the three fiduciary duties every Board member MUST fulfill        
 Examine the three key roles of a nonprofit board         
Consider whether your Board has the right folks at the table and, if not, consider how to recruit the right people         
Understand the role of ONE must-have committee and reconsider other committees your organization may have         
Explore the "consent agenda" and storytelling as pathways for more efficient results-focused meetings        
 Address at least one plaguing concern about your organization

 Participant cost is $30.00 per person (covers both Nonprofit Governance Sessions).  Pre-Registration is required

 Attendees must be a staff person, Board member or volunteer representing a nonprofit organization. These workshops are not to be used as networking events to promote goods or services to nonprofit organizations.         

Due to space limitations, registration is required. The Shoreline Chamber of Commerce will handle all registrations. Each workshop participant will receive materials and questionnaires in advance of the sessions.
