Connex CU Offers Paid Internship to College Students

Paid internship offers hands-on experience at one of the largest credit unions in Connecticut

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (March 17, 2016) – All college students seeking an authentic marketing experience are invited to apply for the Vice President (VP) of Unbanking program at Connex Credit Union. This internship program is entering its seventh year and offers a paid opportunity to work in a full-service financial institution with seven branch locations. The VP of Unbanking internship is open to all local high-energy college sophomores, juniors and seniors who are looking to thrive in a fast-paced professional business environment and will start in the summer and continue throughout December.

The primary function of this position is to assist Connex in adhering to its mission statement, “Improving the lives of our members, one member at a time.”
Key responsibilities of the VP of Unbanking include:
·    Serving as a “spokesperson” for the credit union at various events
·    Developing social media programs and content for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blogging (video editing skills desired) and executing a strategy to promote this content to a broad audience beyond current membership
·    Being exposed to and participating in every aspect of a working marketing department including mailings, data entry and other duties as assigned
·    Having a flexible schedule. Hours will be primarily during the day; however, candidate should be available for occasional evening and weekend events.
·    Being willing to think outside the box and develop the position into your own by generating new ideas and thinking strategically
·    Tracking and analyzing results on all internship driven projects
During the internship period, the VP of Unbanking will be required to work a minimum of 15 hours a week and must have a willingness to continually learn and participate. All applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office, as well as social media. Further discussion of compensation and hours will occur during interviews.
