​Poetry Workshop
BRANFORD: Learn the basics of poetry writing as well as variations on popular styles and techniques. Weekly writing prompts will help students feel more comfortable writing and interpreting modern poetry. Class meets first 3 Saturdays in May. Murder at Blackstone Abbey Fundraiser
BRANFORD: A mysterious woman found murdered at Blackstone Abbey…Who was she? Who killed her? And why? Tickets $50. Takes place at Blackstone Library, 758 Main St., May 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Local Author Expo & Book Fair
BRANFORD: The Blackstone Library, 758 Main St., is hosting its first Local Author Expo on May 21 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. to highlight the works of over 30 local authors. The event will begin with a presentation by Ann Nyberg, author of Slices of Life, and the longest-serving, full-time female news anchor/reporter in Connecticut television history, followed by panel discussions featuring adult and children’s authors. Shakesperience presents Julius Caesar
BRANFORD: Witness the story of “the noblest Roman of them all” as Shakespeare’s tale of political intrigue and betrayal is brought to life in this adaptation by Emily Mattina. This production illustrates how the themes in Shakespeare’s plays still relate to our lives today.  The balance of power is staged on a metal toy construction set that devolves along with the action.
