Lifetime Care at Home
Posted on August 24th, 2016

LIFETIME Care at Home, a private in-home care provider that provides care throughout the shoreline and New Haven County, recently held a training session for their professional caregiving staff to address a growing need, helping those with neurological conditions.

The reason for this increased training?  According to Guy Tommasi, Managing Director of LIFETIME Care At Home, “we’ve seen an increase in clients with ALS, MS and Parkinson’s diseases.  These diagnoses take a toll on family caregivers and our staff – they create very difficult emotional situations and mobility challenges.”

More than 30 professional caregivers attended the evening program that featured three,  hands-on learning models regarding ALS, MS and Parkinson’s diseases.  The expert instructors were: Stacey Rahl, LMSW, Care Services Director of the ALS Association Connecticut Chapter, Stephanie Han, RN, Health Promotion Nurse at VNA Community Healthcare and Lynne Keyser, specialty trained instructor of VNA Community Healthcare’s Parkinson’s Exercise Class.

“Our goal is to support and educate our staff as much as possible about issues they are facing, so that our clients and their families will have peace of mind and have the very best care and highly skilled caregivers,” Tommasi added.
