Connex CU is Collecting Donations for CT Children's Medical Center
Posted on September 8th, 2016

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 7, 2016) –  As part of its philanthropic program ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union is once again partnering with Credit Unions for Kids during the national Miracle Jeans Day promotion. All Connex employees who donate five or more dollars to Children’s Miracle Network Hospital: Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford will be permitted to wear jeans to work on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016. Furthermore, the credit union will also be accepting donations from its members through Sept. 26, and will match the total contributions made, up to $1,000.
Contributing has never been easier thanks to the donation feature on the Miracle Jeans Day website. Members can also donate through the staff at their local branch. All donations are tax-deductible, and every penny goes to aid the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in performing breakthrough research and adopting life-saving equipment.
“The opportunity to work alongside Credit Unions for Kids in their support of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, and all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, is an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Carl Casper, vice president of customer advocacy, Connex Credit Union. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to match contributions up to $1,000 and urge all of our members to make a donation, no matter how small, to the Miracle Jeans Day promotion to help change the lives of these young patients”
Credit Unions for Kids is a non-profit collaboration of credit unions, chapters and business partners from across the nation. These groups engage in fundraising activities that benefit 170 hospitals in the Children’s Miracle Network by funding cutting edge research and helping to develop new innovative technology. Each year these hospitals treat nearly 10 million patients. A donation as small as $5 could buy a blanket for a baby or a blood pressure cuff designed for tiny arms.
