Applications open TOMORROW Feb. 1, 2017

Two $2,000 scholarships and a $1,000 scholarship offered

Connex Credit Union announces it is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program. Three scholarships worth a total of $5,000 are available to assist college-bound or currently enrolled students with the rising costs of higher education.

The scholarships offered in 2017 are:

$1,000 - Nicolas G. Hackett Memorial Scholarship: Established in memory of longtime Connex volunteer Nick Hackett

$2,000 – John R. Edwards Community Involvement Scholarship: Awarded in honor of former Connex President and Chief Executive Officer John R. Edwards to a student who emulates the credit union’s commitment to community service

$2,000 – Arthur B. Haesche Memorial Scholarship: Created to commemorate one of Connex’s founding members, Arthur B. Haesche, and reserved for a student majoring in business or finance

“We are elated to support our student-members as they embark on the next phase of their educational journey,” said Carl Casper, vice president of customer advocacy, Connex Credit Union. “Even the most financially conscious student can be impacted by the excessive costs of college and the opportunity to alleviate some of this burden directly correlates with our core values of customer advocacy.”
