Connex’s Coins-for-Change Program Donates Fees from
Coin-Counting Machines to Local Charitable Organizations

Both members and non-members can contribute to this initiative

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (Mar. 28, 2017) – Connex Credit Union is proud to announce the charitable organizations benefitting from its Coins-for-Change program during the second quarter of 2017. This initiative, which donated more than $13,000 in 2016, was developed to help convert neglected spare change into a beneficial contribution for deserving non-profits.
Sorting, counting and wrapping coins can be time-consuming, but coin-counting machines can make the task quick and easy. Unlike most machines that charge high fees and profit from them, Connex donates one hundred percent of its modest fees to various community organizations each quarter. Connex’s coin-counting machines charge a five percent fee to Connex members and a seven percent fee to non-members and every penny goes towards a worthy charity via the Coins-for-Change program.
Those looking to participate can find coin-counting machines at four Connex branches in Guilford, Hamden, Meriden and North Haven.
Coins-for-Change occurs four times each year as part of the ConnexCares philanthropic initiative. Connex has selected the following charitable groups to benefit from the program during the initial quarter of 2017.
From Apr. 1 through June 30, 2017, members and non-members can donate by visiting:

Broad St. (Townline Square) to donate to Connecticut Family Support Network Inc.Connex’s North Haven Branch located at 412 Washington Ave. to donate to Girls Lead

Connecticut Family Support Network Inc. provides no-cost assistance to families raising children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Money raised would benefit free support groups, trainings and workshops.
