Connex Credit Union Offering Two
Award-Winning Workshops for FREE in May
Professional financial literacy sessions open to both members and non-members

Connex Credit Union, one of Connecticut’s largest credit unions, announces it is offering two of its award-winning workshops for FREE during the first week of May. Seasoned industry professionals will provide attendees with the information necessary to take control of their financial lives. These no-obligation seminars are available to both members and non-members as part of the ConnexCares philanthropic initiative.

The first workshop is entitled “How to Prepare, Pay, and Stay in College” and will be hosted by Credit Union Student Choice Director of Strategic Partnerships Suzanne C. Wilkins. This seminar is ideal for both students and parents and will highlight the college application process, including pertinent information on choosing the right college, the cost of higher education, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other student loan options. Furthermore, attendees will discover how scholarships, grants and work study programs can help subsidize these expenses and make the next step in their educational journey more affordable. This highly-informative class takes place Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Connex’s North Haven Branch located at 412 Washington Ave. Light refreshments will be served.

Later that week, Manager of Connex’s Guilford Branch Kerry Perrotta will present the always-popular “Credit Score 101.” Perrotta will discuss what a credit score is and why it matters to you. The presentation will cover how to establish credit and what factors can ultimately hurt your credit score. “Credit Score 101” occurs Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Connex’s North Haven Branch located at 412 Washington Ave.

While Connex encourages guests to attend seminars in person, a webinar option is available for those unable to do so.

These seminars are FREE, but registration is required and can be completed by visiting connexcu.org or by calling 1-800-CR-UNION (1-800-278-6466). During this process you will select if you plan to attend in person or via webinar.  The workshops are open to members and non-members of the credit union, but act fast, seats are limited.
