Connex Credit Union Announces Carl Casper as
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Financial industry veteran promoted after four years as vice president of Customer Advocacy

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (May  1, 2017) –  Connex Credit Union proudly announces that Carl Casper has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer after serving four years as vice president of Customer Advocacy. Casper offers nearly three decades of financial experience and oversees the Retail Branch Network, Contact Center, marketing department, consumer lending and compliance function.

Since joining Connex in 2013, Casper has significantly expanded the credit union’s products and services by capitalizing on knowledge gained through his previous leadership roles at Citizen’s Bank, Hudson United Bank and, most recently, Webster Bank. One of his most impactful contributions, the ConnexCares charitable initiative, donates more than $30,000 annually and has helped foster a positive environment for Connex’s members and the communities it serves.

Furthermore, Casper lead the charge in promoting financial literacy throughout the local area. He helped establish a variety of programs, for both members and non-members, that provide the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate today’s labyrinth of fiscal options. These events have received both statewide and national recognition for their accomplishments.
As a strong advocate for the credit union movement, Casper has attended the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference the past four years to lobby and ensure legislators understand the unique and necessary role credit unions have within our communities and financial services industry. He is also presently chairman of the Credit Union League of Connecticut’s (CULCT) Consumer Awareness Committee.

Casper graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Economics before earning his MBA in Finance from Quinnipiac University. He has a long history of board service for several non-profit organizations including a current position as secretary on the Board of Benhaven in Wallingford, Connecticut – a group assisting individuals on the Autism spectrum.
