Connex Credit Union Helps Local Children Develop a Love for Learning
With More than $750 Donation to Branford Early Childhood Collaborative
Funds collected through the Coins-for-Change program at Guilford branch
As part of its ConnexCares philanthropic initiative, Connex Credit Union recently donated more than $750 to support the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative in its mission to develop  a love for learning in local children. This contribution is the result of participation in the credit union’s Coins-for-Change program by visitors to its Guilford branch during the first quarter of 2017.

The Branford Early Childhood collaborative is committed to ensuring all Branford children and families have the opportunity to cultivate a sound foundation for learning during the critical developmental stages that occur from birth to eight years old.

“We are so pleased that Connex Credit Union selected the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative to participate in their Coins-for-Change program,” said Robin Comey, coordinator, Branford Early Childhood Collaborative.  “This contribution enabled us to distribute more than 900 free books in honor of April’s Week of the Young Child and the One Book One Town literacy celebration.”

To learn more, or donate, please visit branfordbecc.org or send an email to branford.becc@gmail.com.

The Coins-for-Change program charges a five percent fee to members, and a seven percent fee to non-members, to use Connex’s coin-cashing machines. Each fiscal quarter, 100 percent of this money is donated to different charitable organizations in the local community, contributing more than $13,000 annually.

Local non-profit or charitable organizations interested in participating in the “Coins-for-Change” program, are encouraged to contact Roquita Johnson at Connex Credit Union, at 1-800-CR-UNION or rjohnson@connexcu.org.
