The exhibition will highlight recent work in all media by faculty members and adult students who have taught or taken classes or workshops at the Center in the past two years. It will serve as the kick-off event for the Art Center’s 50th anniversary year, which will include events and celebrations throughout 2017.Works on view will represent the many media taught at the Center, including paintings and drawings, pottery, weaving, blacksmithing, jewelry, glass, stone carving, photography and more.
“This show is a great opportunity for Guilford Art Center to showcase the wonderful work created and taught here,” says Executive Director Maureen Belden. “We have an amazingly talented group of instructor-artists, many with national stature, who also happen to be strong teachers. Seeing their work, and the work of their students, together, really highlights the creative learning and inspiration that takes place at the Center.”

Eagle Eye Photo Imaging, LLC

Aerial Photography

Is using Aerial Drone Photography a service that will bring added value to your business?
Aerial photo imagery brings a unique added value perspective to your project.
For example, a real estate aerial video can show in panorama the area surrounding the property.

This provides the prospective buyer with a better understanding of exactly where the property is located in relation to other homes and features of the neighborhood.

Also, dramatic effects can be created by flying around a property from different flight attitudes, creating a video montage highlighting notable features such as gardens, swimming pools, water views, barns, carriage houses, etc. All done to bring added value, facilitating the sale and showcasing the property.

So whether your project involves real estate, golf &country clubs, yacht clubs, construction sites, special events etc., all will benefit from aerial photography.

A word of caution - A drone operator who does not have the proper FAA credentials risks fines and or penalties. All commercial drone operators must be certified by the FAA under Section 333 or Part 107.

Eagle Eye Photo Imaging, LLC has received FAA approval to commercially operate UAS in the National Air Space. We follow FAA regulations mandating that a commercial UAS operator hold a Section 333 Exemption or pass the 14 CFR Part 107 Airman Knowledge Test.  The UAS business is relatively new and developing, therefore, you should insure that the company you choose is insured and meets all FAA guidelines.

Connex Credit Union Continues Support of
Local Charitable Groups with Coins-for-Change Program
Both members and non-members can contribute to this initiative
NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (Jan. 9, 2017) – Connex Credit Union is proud to announce that its highly successful Coins-for-Change program will return in 2017. This initiative, which donated more than $10,000 in 2016, was developed to help convert neglected spare change into a beneficial contribution for deserving non-profits.

Sorting, counting and wrapping coins can be a nuisance, but coin-counting machines can make the task quick and easy. Unlike most machines that charge high fees and profit from them, Connex donates one hundred percent of its modest fees to various community organizations each quarter. Connex’s coin-counting machines charge a five percent fee to Connex members and a seven percent fee to non-members and every penny goes towards a worthy charity via the Coins-for-Change program.

Those looking to participate can find coin-counting machines at four Connex branches in Guilford, Hamden, Meriden and North Haven.

Coins-for-Change occurs four times each year as part of the ConnexCares philanthropic initiative. Connex has selected the following charitable groups to benefit from the program during the initial quarter of 2017.

From Jan. 1 through March 31, 2017, members and non-members can donate by visiting:
Connex’s Guilford Branch located at 849 Boston Post Road to donate to Branford Early Childhood CollaborativeConnex’s Hamden Branch located at 2100 Dixwell Ave. to donate to  New Haven ReadsConnex’s Meriden Branch located at 533 S. Broad St. (Townline Square) to donate to North Haven Education Foundation, Inc.Connex’s North Haven Branch located at 412 Washington Ave. to donate to North Haven Garden ClubBranford Early Childhood Collaborative (BECC) seeks to instill a love of learning in both school and life for Branford children, from birth to eight years old. Funds raised would help alleviate programming costs associated with Branford’s early childhood support network and Early Care Provider Roundtable Series.
New Haven Reads promotes children’s literacy through free personal tutoring, educational family support and a community book bank.

North Haven Education Foundation, Inc. encourages academic excellence by funding projects and initiatives for students and the community designed to enhance or extend learning opportunities beyond the conventional resources of the school system. Contributions would go towards educational materials and programs not included in the board of education budget.
North Haven Garden Club provides gardening and beautification efforts for the town of North Haven. They maintain several locations with plantings and street landscaping services, including the library and historical buildings.
