Recreation in Guilford
Guilford's location on Connecticut's shoreline makes it a great town for active people of all ages.  Recreational facilities include two town beaches, a town marina, playing fields, public golf, tennis courts, a roller sports complex, playgrounds and many miles of walking trails. Guilford is very fortunate to have a part of the Menunkatuck Trail pass through it.
Public courts are located at Adams Middle School, Guilford Lakes School, Guilford High School (lighted) and Baldwin Middle School. Guilford Racquet and Swim Club, a private facility, is located at 420 Church St.
Guilford maintains many marked trails - maps are available at the Town Hall, Bishop's Orchards, the Library and the community center.
Among the trails are Bluff Head, Horse Trails, Nut Plains Woods, Timberlands and Westwoods, perhaps the largest, containing 40 miles that include marshland, fish and salt water, hills and beautiful views.
Lighted outdoor basketball courts are located at Adams Middle School, 233 Church Street and at the EMS/Police Department campus, located at 400 Church Street.
Guilford Lakes golf course is located at 200 North Madison Road.  Facilities include a Par 3 9 hole course managed by the town, club house, golf shop and golf lessons.  Open April-November.  Fees based on residency and tee time reservations.
Jacob's Beach is located on Seaside Avenue.  This lovely sandy beach on Long Island Sound boasts a picnic area, grills, pavilion, bathrooms and kayak racks.  A lifeguard is on duty from 9:00 - 5:00 Memorial Day through Labor Day.
